Bi-Weekly Challenges

These challenges will be posted in our Slack channels, but you can also check in here regularly and participate! These are generally more targeted at our mentees, but mentors are welcome to join in!

Week 2 - Plan Your Growth

Plans are nothing, planning is everything - Dwight D. Eisenhower

Plans don’t need to be forever plans - things change - but clarifying a direction and defining steps to get there (planning) is important to help you achieve what you want. Writing a plan helps to get that clarity, and will also make it easier for others (like your BUD!) to understand how to best help you.

The challenge:

Define a goal for your career (short/mid/long-term) and a goal for your time in this program. Your program goal should link to your career goal, and make it clear how to measure achievement (SMART goals). Then, define at least 3 actions that you want to take to achieve your program goal. Feel free to use any template, but we also have one that you can use here: PDP Template.

⭐ Week 4 - Build Your Network This week’s challenge is about growing your network. No matter what point you are in your career, your network is going to help you. We have written a short guide to help you here: Networking is just Building Connections.

The challenge: Connect or reach out to 2 new people online, who are outside of your workplace and social group. To make it easier, choose two people in the SheSharp Slack - they could even be in this program!

  1. Update your Slack profile details - add some personal information that will help others connect with you. You can even add the name of your BUD 😊 See mine here.
  2. Decide what types of people that you want to add to your network, and find a few who match.
  3. Send them a message!

Let us know how you go in #mentee-mentorship-program-2024!

Alternatively, use LinkedIn search to find someone - they could be based on common interests, a common connection, or they work for a company that you are interested in. You can also ask your BUD for some help.
